Curried Veggie Burger with Royal® Jasmine Rice

Treat yourself with the meatless and flavorful combination of curry and Royal® Jasmine Rice with our Curried Veggie Burger with Royal® Jasmine Rice. Perfect for a meatless Monday – or any day!


  • 1 cup Royal® Jasmine Rice
  • 1½ cups water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon GrapeOla® GrapeSeed Oil
  • Whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 1 persian cucumber, sliced
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves
  • ¼ cup cucumber raita
  • ¼ cup pickled onion


  1. In a medium sauce pot with a tight-fitting lid, add the rice, water, and pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and then, reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Set aside and let cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the rice, lime juice, curry powder, breadcrumbs, egg, and salt and pepper. Form into 4-6 patties to your desired thickness. Grease a medium sauté pan with GrapeOla® Grapeseed Oil. Over medium heat, cook burgers on each side for 3 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Top the burgers and eat hot.
