Our farms are systematically organized to produce a consistent, medium grain rice with a bright, white luster when cooked. Aged to perfection, Royal® Ponni Raw rice exudes a subtle flavor and soft texture, making it a staple of authentic Indian cuisine, enhancing signature dishes like lemon rice, curd rice or served alongside your favorite curry.
Soak rice 10-15 minutes (optional). For enhanced taste, add 2 teaspoons of oil or 1 tablespoon of butter and a pinch of salt for each dry cup of rice prepared (optional). To reduce excess starch, rinse Royal® Ponni Raw Rice Rice 1-2 times and drain excess water before cooking. For FIRMER RICE, use less water and reduce cooking time. For SOFTER RICE, use more water and increase cooking time.
Stove Top Method: Bring 1½ cups of water to a boil in saucepan with tight fitting lid. Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of Royal® Ponni Raw Rice, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes or until water is absorbed. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve while still hot.
Rice Cooker Method: Use ratio 1 cup of rice to 1½ cups of water. See rice cooker manual for specific operation. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve while still hot.
Microwave Method (1200-Watt rating): Combine 1 cup of rice and 1¾ cups water in a microwave-safe container (2qts minimum capacity). Cover tightly with microwave-safe lid and cook on HIGH power setting for 10-12 minutes. Remove from microwave. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve while still hot.
CAUTION CONTAINER WILL BE HOT. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate. Adjust cooking time as needed.
