Made from the finest durum wheat semolina, couscous is a hearty pasta that cooks quickly and easily takes on the flavor of whatever it’s combined with. Enjoy it with honey and raisins for breakfast instead of oatmeal. Combine it with raw or cooked vegetables for delicious mixed salads. Serve it on the side as a savory pilaf. 1 cup of Royal® Original Couscous
1 cup of water
1 tbsp. of oil/butter (optional)
pinch of salt (optional)
Stove Top: Bring 1 cup water to boil with 1 tbsp. butter, margarine, or oil in a 2-quart saucepan. Stir in 1 cup of Royal® Original Couscous. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
Microwave: Combine water and a pinch of salt in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave water for about 4-5 minutes* until it starts to boil. Add couscous and oil/butter and stir. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
